Larry Page and Sergey Brin, founders of Google, had brought this concept in 1998 for fun on the eve of the Burning Man festival in Nevada. They have created a temporary Contextual logo.   • The participant should be either a citizen of US, a permanent resident of US, or should have any legal nationality proof.

Entry Rules 

Students can enter online from any part of the USA. Entering into the competition is just straightforward with a few steps.

  • First applicants need to download or take a printout of the entry form from the Google website.
  • Then fill in all the details in the entry form with the help of parents.
  • Everyone should write his own views. It should explain the whole concept of Doodle and how it symbolizes the specific thing.
  • Also, remember that applicants can use any kind of material to create their doodles. It includes crayons, colors, clay, objects, etc. whatever they want.

How to Submit The Doodle for Google?

  • Applicants need to submit their doodles by uploading the image of the Doodle in the entry form. The format should be either .jpg or .png. Another alternative for the submission of doodles is to mail the picture.

Award and Reward Policy

The selection and announcement of winners are categorized into three sectors. They are:

State and Territory Winners

In this category, the selections will be done state by state and around 10 or above best participants will be selected from each grade. Hence we will get a total of 54 winners in the state and territory category. All these winners are showcased on the Doodles gallery of Google’s official website.

National Finalist

For this national finalist category also, Google will select the best participant from each category. At the end of the competition, a total of 5 national finalists are selected. These finalists are selected using a voting system among the 54 participants for 5 days. By the end of the 5th day, the contender who gets the most number of votes will be announced as the national finalist.

National Champion

All the selected Google employees and other guest judges will sit and decide the best national finalist among those five national finalists. As the competition takes place in March, the announcement of result happens approximately by June.

Rules and Regulations for Google Doodle

The main motive of the doodle competitions is to bring out creativity among US students. But every participant should follow the rules and regulations strictly to participate and win prizes smoothly. Before entering into the competition, one must have had a legal agreement that the participant is agreeing to all the rules, terms, and conditions. These rules are:

  • The submission of all the Doodles should be within the contest period.
  • Every participant should meet all the eligibility criteria, belong to any grade of the above-mentioned categories.
  • Every participant should submit a parent consent letter that they are agreeing to the participation of their kid.
  • No participants should submit copyrighted images or other company logos etc. It should be unique.
  • One participant should submit one doodle and fill out one entry form.
  • The incomplete entry forms or doodles or late submitted doodles will be disqualified.
  • They should not be overly critical, hostile, compromising, abusive, decrying, derogatory, or contain any substance that is improper, revolting, or contain any sexual element.
  • They should not contain any unlawful component or content or material.
  • They should not contain any substance, material, or component that shows any outsider promoting motto, logo, brand name, a portrayal of characters demonstrating a sponsorship.
  • They should be unique, unpublished works.
  • They can’t contain any substance, component, or material that abuses an outsider’s exposure, protection, or licensed innovation freedoms.

In case of not agreeing norms, participants have to face disqualification. So, one should be more cautious while submitting their doodles.

As the doodle seems to be funny and entertaining, but creation of a single doodle requires a lot of dedication, spontaneity, creativity, a sense of humor, etc. People will sit together and brainstorm themselves to create unique doodles which are meaningful and contextual.
